The story behind AI101.uk
I've spent over a decade working in sales — and if there's one thing that role teaches you, it's how to read change before it arrives. Over the past few years, I've watched AI go from something people talked about in conference rooms to something quietly reshaping how deals get done, how communication works, and what separates the people who are thriving from the people who are struggling to keep up.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't unsettled by it at first. Like most people, I had more questions than answers. So I did what I always do when something matters: I went deep. Dozens of hours of research, experimentation, trial and error — figuring out not just what AI is, but how it actually works in practice. What it's genuinely useful for. Where it falls short. How to use it in a way that amplifies what you bring to the table rather than replacing it.
What I found changed the way I work. And it made me realise that most people don't have the time or the inclination to spend dozens of hours figuring this out themselves — they just need someone to cut through the noise and show them what actually matters.
That's why I built AI101.uk. Not as a tech product. Not as a Silicon Valley pitch. But as a genuinely useful set of courses, built by someone who's lived and worked in the same world as our students. Someone who knows what it's like to be busy, to be sceptical, and to need things explained in plain English without the hype.
My goal is bigger than one course platform. I want the UK to be one of the most knowledgeable and adaptable countries when it comes to AI. Not because we're the loudest, but because we took the time to learn it properly — and then actually put it to work. That mission starts here, one learner at a time.
